Maybe that’s why we can see many hadiths are available in Bukhari and Muslims about keeping the beard. That hadith indicates that every Muslim and every person should keep a beard. On the other hand, many people believe that, in the world, a beard is a sign of Muslim people.
Some people think the beard is a sign of love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Islam indeed encourages people to keep their beards. What is the punishment for shaving a beard in Islam?

Some Islamic scholars said shaving the beard is makruh. But most Islamic scholars say cutting the beard is haram in Islam. So we can see strong evidence that shaving a beard is haram.

Hadith about beard in Islam
Beard is a visible sunnah for Muslims. However, there are many hadiths available in Bukhari and Muslim about beards. Here, I want to discuss some hadith about beards. I collected those hadiths from Bukhari and Muslims.
Hadith number 1
Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Try to lengthen the beard and cut short the mustache”. Said Ibn Umar radiyallahu anhu (Bukhari and Muslim).
Hadith number 2
Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “Grow the beard,” said Ibn Umar Radiyallahu Anhu (Muslim).
So there we can see two strong hadiths. That hadith indicates that the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said that every Muslim should keep a beard. So every Muslim needs to keep a beard on his face.
